Paul Cezanne is often called the father of modern art due to his successful breakaway from impressionism while being the first in his generation to do so. Famously known for balancing the aspects of impressionist and classic artwork he is best known for his still life work. His artwork was the framework for abstract art of the 20th century influencing many artist such as Picasso.
