Cesanne

Cesanne received little recognition in his lifetime but later artists praise him as the father of modern art. Matisse called him the father of us all. Picasso called him a mother who protects her childen. In addition, the art world as a whole has recognized him and embraced, praised his work. His Card Player Series holds the record for the highest selling price of a painting at $274 million. BUt his abilities are not limited to just still life subjects. Cesanne painted portraits, landscapes, and all other subjects. These reasons all make up why Cesanne is deemed the father of modern art.
