Henri Matisse was known as an artist in the Fauvism period and the Fauves were also considered "wild beasts" which is why I chose his painting, "La Danza" because I feel it does portray this period with the men in this painting. Plus, they look like wild beasts being naked. Also, I liked how Matisse used bold colors in this portrait. I feel the emotion is really being captured and that a story is being told in this painting aside from the colors and representation of this art era.
