Henri Matisse was a French painter, who was labeled as a (Fauve), which means "wild beast" due to his paintings were expressed with intense emotion and wild color use. This painting is called Luxe, Calme et Volupté, and was painted in 1904. This piece shows the use of Matisse's use of brilliant color and brush strokes.
