Readymade

This is art because it removes the objects purpose. Instead of being a urinal it is now a new shape with new additions unique to the artist. The audience is not forced to see that craftsmanship and shape of the piece without connecting it to its purpose. Although in my opinion readymade pieces are often already "half done" once the artist gets them, if done correctly, the piece loses it's previous life and gains a new one and that is art.
