Essay

Born in 1869, Henri Matisse was a French modern artist. He was mostly known for his use of color and his draughtmanship.

He is normally considered to be one of the most important figures in modern art and for good reason. The man had great talent and his art brought a new level of expression to the art world. His use of color and expression really define what modern art is about. He took such simple everyday things and made them come to life, discoloring them or drawing them in interesting ways. His influence can be seen till this day in paintings comics and film for his boundary pushing and desire to not be restricted.
