Is this Art?

In my opinion, I do not think this is art.  I'm conflicted with the message the artist is trying to portray.  It appears that this is just a random object placed in front of a camera.  It does not possess any creativity or seek any attention.  However, art comes in all different shapes, sizes and forms and not all is created with a purpose.
